The Empty House

The Empty House is a web documentary produced by PeaceReporter in 2010. Its authors, Nicola Sessa, Christian Elia and Gianluca Cecere, travelled by car from Milan to Tirana, gathering testimonies from people involved, in different ways, in the allegations of organ trafficking attributed to members of the KLA during and after the 1999 Kosovo War.

The allegations had been brought to wider public attention by Carla Del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, in her memoir The Hunt.

The web documentary brings together the voices of relatives of missing persons, witnesses, and some of the political and military figures of those years, reflecting the complexity of a case that has long remained controversial.
